Really random Thursday

I am taking a deep breath and trying to let some things go!  Anyhow,  here are some positives from this past week...

My garden is planted...beans, peas, cucumbers, peppers, Brussel sprouts, spinach, onions and cilantro.  And a couple tomatoes this weekend.

My lilacs are beautiful this year...

I don't know what kind of tree this is but it is beautiful every spring!

Anger Management issues

Have you ever had things happen that just makes your blood boil with anger?  And it carries over into other parts of your life?  The last 24 hours have been that way for me!

 Starting with my daughters track coaches...she has battled injury through the whole season and came back at the last few races.  On Monday night she ran the 4X800 race with three other girls for regionals. She helped her team make it to sectionals, which is the race that qualifies your team for state competition.  Last night her coach told her that she would not be running sectionals and that a girl that is a slower runner would be running in her place!!!!  My daughter would be the alternate!  My daughter was and still is devastated!!   I spent all last night and all day to day filled with anger!!

I am driving 60 in a 55 and a truck was tailgating me and a passing zone was coming up and guess what I did?!  That boiling anger came up and I sped up so he could not get by!  I won't say how fast I went, but,  let's just say he did not make it by!  And I made sure he never got by me, after all I was driving over the speed limit anyway...then when it came to my turn he honked and flipped me the bird so I blew him a kiss and waved bye,bye and that really made him mad!  But for a bit I felt better!


My sis in law and I stopped here for some food...bad idea...I HAVE to be gluten free and I found out 95% of the food here is not gluten free!  Boiling anger bubbles up again-I hate it that I have to be gluten free, I can't even have french fries anymore!  I had to have salad yet again!  I am really beginning to hate salad and anything salad related!!!  Its torture watching everyone else eat all the things I WANT to eat!

Then I got to the track meet and watched the girls run with my sad daughter at my side and that boiling anger came back!  I am going to let that coach know exactly how I feel!  And the 4X800 team is not going to state...
And anger bubbles up again!

More finishes

I've had a VERY busy week with a happy ending!  My hubby and I delivered all the quilty baby stuff to Aunt Suzie and she was happy with everything. We had dinner and some talk time and a lot of fun!  You can see some of the other baby items Here   And here are the new finishes!  I'll start with one of my favorites...

Now I can have a weekend of rest!  Or maybe I'll start another quilt!

Finishes

I am so happy that this week is coming to a close!  Tomorrow I finally get to work at my home store for the first time in a month!!  I may have to make treats to celebrate, IF I have time...I'm still on a deadline for quilty baby stuff!  And speaking of quilty baby stuff, I have some things done!!!

Word of the Day-INSANITY!!!!

This will be quick, it's after 11pm and I need to get to bed so I can get up early!  Suffice it to say, work today was INSANITY!  When work was done it was a track meet, dinner, an hour ride home, play with dogs, see the kids and then straight to the sewing room...INSANITY!!  Anyways, here is the pile of sewing I have been doing...

 In this pile there is a quilt top, receiving blanket top, hooded bath towel, 2 washcloths, 3 burp cloths and a  travel diaper changing pad  and one more surprise I have up my sleeve...

And here is something that will ease the minds of the ladies that emailed me about my lack of pinning while piecing and sewing!  Those emails made me chuckle a few times!

See, every now and then I do pin when I think its needed!  Otherwise, I use my regular method, slap it together, sew, and then square it up later!  I know, I know, INSANITY, right?  Hey, it works for me!

A sigh of relief

I am so happy to be done with this past weekend!  It was crazy busy but I had so much fun!!!

I did a photo shoot with these beautiful girls...My daughter is on the left, my mom made her dress, and the girl in the purple dress beside my daughter made her dress!  She's been sewing since 5th grade and she did a beautiful job.  A good time was had by all at prom this year...now I need to spend the rest of the week in the sewing room to get everything done by Thursday night!!!

Mom's Finish!

My Mom finished my daughter's prom dress this week...

She was going to wear silver heels but a few weeks ago she tore a muscle and is still healing so heels are out.    
Last night we made her hairpiece to match the dress.  You can see it HERE

Thanks Mom!!

Not only did my Mom make the prom dress, but she saved me on the barrette that my daughter wanted to go with her dress...Thank You, Mom, you always save the day!  She had an old barrette I was able to tear apart and remake into exactly what my girl wanted...

And then we bedazzled!!!

And finally we had a sparkly barrette ready for prom!

Really Random Thursday...

This is how my life feels right now!  Everything spinning out of control and I'm in the middle of it!!!

Things are way too busy, there's not enough time in a day and everyone wants/needs/demands my time right now!  But it will get better, right?  Here's some of my deadlines/projects/events for the next week...

• My job has taken me to work at a store that is an hour away-so everyday for the last three weeks its been a two hour ride to and from work!  And I'm working about 10 more hours each week than I normally do...
• By next Thursday I need to have a quilt, receiving blanket, burp cloths, diaper changing pad, bath towel and washcloth all done and ready for gifting.
• By Saturday I need to have all prom stuff done, both my son and daughter are both going this year.
• Pick up prom dress tonight!!!
• Two track meets next week
• And too many other things to list!!

Here is what I'm working on right now...

I have not figured out what I'm doing but somehow I will get it done and hopefully it looks awesome!

OOPS!!!

This is what happens when I sew when I am tired!!

Can you tell what I did?  I turned one row the wrong way!!!  This is part of the receiving blanket, which I hope to finish tonight!  Monday night I thought I finished the quilt top, BUT, I may add just a little more to it, there's just something that is bugging me about it!!  It just needs to percolate in my brain a little longer!

PS-on Friday I will be doing a post for my Mom's Friday Finish...my daughters prom dress!!

PSS-and maybe some of my finishes too!!
