Wisconsin Badgers Quilt

Oops!  In all the craziness around here I forgot to show the Badger quilt I made to donate to the benefit for a little girl that has had brain surgery in February.  The quilt was originally going to be in the silent auction but the ladies decided that it should be in the live auction instead.  I'm glad they did, it made more money for Autumn's medical bills.

Please excuse the mess in the house and the not so great picks, it was late at night and we wanted to get to bed!

UH-OH!!

I had a major OH,NO!! moment on Monday.  Aunt Suzie had asked for a set of quilts and baby items for what I thought to be done around the middle of May...here's the texts from Monday...

Me:  Do you have any themes or colors picked for the next set of quilts and stuff?
Suzie:  Trees, orange and red colors
Suzie:  Did I say I need it by the 1st of May?
Me:  I can get it done by then, I think...

I went back to work and then it hit me, that's next week!  And I have a lot going on this week and next week and I don't have oranges and reds in my stash and I need to make a trip to Joann's for towel fabric and I need to pick a pattern and OH NO!  OH NO! OH NO!!!

So I calmed down, chose a pattern and hit the quilt shop last night and found oranges and reds ( no trees with those colors-unless it was a fall themed quilt-so, screw the trees) and now I'm ready to get down to business...

I'm so tired...

Today has been one of those days that feels like it will never end!  I was up most of last night checking on my youngest son and giving him benadryl because he was having an allergic reaction to something.  The doctor fit us in and now he is on steroids for the next 8 days and he has to see an allergist to try to figure out what it was...Not a pretty picture!

The puppies kept wanting to go outside every five minutes this afternoon, so I decided to investigate and this is what they have been doing...Digging holes!

Good thing he's cute cuz the backyard is ugly!

And speaking of ugly, this is what I woke up to on Monday morning...
The last of the snow finally disappeared yesterday, hopefully no more will fall!

I also finished the Wisconsin Badger quilt for the silent auction to benefit a little girl that had brain surgery in February.  Crossing my fingers and toes in hopes of it making a lot of money to help with her medical bills...more on the quilt tomorrow!  Now I'm off to bed!

Procrastination...

OK, now that I think about it, procrastination may be the wrong word...I have a quilt I am making that is going into a fundraiser for a little girl that recently had brain surgery. I need to have it done in the next day or two, however, this is as far as I have gotten.
One block completed! But I have almost all the parts to the other blocks ready to be put together. The goal for the day is to have the quilt top completed and maybe even quilted by the time I go to bed tonight!

Now here's why procrastination may be the wrong word...over the last couple of weeks there has been...
work, track meets and practices, doctor appointments, chiropractor appointments, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, other quilt making, knitting, doggie walking, family time and last but not least PROM!
I loved Prom and so does my daughter!  We found this dress, her dream dress, for only $100!
The only drawback to this dress was getting her into the truck to go to dinner!  I had to stuff her in...
Now that all that craziness is over, its on to the sewing room...hopefully I can have a quilt top to show later today!

Monkeys and chenille...

About two years ago I bought a slash/chenille cutter but had never used it until last weekend.  Why did I wait so long?!  It was so much fun and I literally made "a quilt in a day"!  The only part that was not so much fun was the quilting every 1/2 inch but in the end it was well worth it.

I think there will be more chenille in my future!
Now on to the next quilt...
