Denmark

This past school year friends of mine hosted an exchange student from Denmark.  Over the course of the year my daughter and Maria became good friends and as things usually go, somewhere along the way it was decided that Maria needed a quilt as a going away present!  And of course it was short notice...so among track meets, graduation, work, getting ready for a trip and going on that trip, I worked in a quilt for Maria.

I sewed half square triangles and my daughter did the design.  Here's the first try...
It took her about and hour and a half to finally decide what she wanted.  Finally after I showed her a design I had drawn up for another quilt, she was inspired and started this.
There were some changes made during quilt top assembly and I LOVE the finished quilt...
We made it in a knick of time-the night before Maria was flying home!

    1. That is exactly what we were going for!! Maria told us that Denmark is all black and white-so we injected some color for her! She also said she loves the USA because we are NOT afraid of color!
